> Roy Hathcock
Roy L. Hathcock has been involved in the healthcare industry as an executive and investor for the past 35 years. He began his career as founder and CEO of Respiratory Care Services, which established respiratory therapy departments with over 130 hospitals nationwide until it was sold to American Medical Inc. in 1984. He was responsible for the establishment of several independent companies from 1985 through 2000 which provided diversified healthcare services to hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and patients in their homes. These services included respiratory, cardiology, home medical equipment and infusion/pharmacy. In addition, one of these companies, RCS Healthcare Services, based in Atlanta, Ga., was the first company in the southeast to provide sleep lab services to hospitals on a contractual basis. Each of these companies were sold to or merged with larger healthcare companies.
The early involvement with hospitals for the provision of sleep services, led to the development of a new company in 1998, SleepWorks Inc. This company established free standing labs at a time when the majority of sleep studies were being done in hospitals. These labs were affiliated with boarded sleep physicians on a contract or joint venture basis.
SleepWorks Inc. was sold to American Healthcare Services in 2002 and the product being utilized as the mechanism for managing data within the company, was setup as a separate company. This company SleepEx Systems Inc., was the beginning of what has become a more comprehensive product that is offered by SleepEx today. |
